What I adore is supreme professionalism. I’m bored by writers who can write only when it’s raining.

About This Quote

From what I can see, the definition of a writer is someone who writes. It’s easy to stop doing what you love. It’s also easy to stop trying to do something that you don’t like. But, if we want to be great we can’t do that.

We have to keep trying and keep showing up and keep doing. A writer wants to be rated at least equal with rain and not below it. A writer wants to be rated as one of those writers who writes when it rains, so no matter how bad the weather is he will still write.
